Less Shifting During Flight

As someone who flies well over a hundred thousand miles a year…today’s developments are hardly encouraging (for me or anyone). All the politics aside…personally I think it’s not such a bad idea to curtail carry on baggage. It’s gotten way out of hand…and hey they might have to start feeding everyone on board […]

London Brightly

Was able to wander London early this morning with the sun shining brightly. The whole city is abuzz with anticipation of the big game tonight (our flight leaves 30 minutes before game time…I bet they make sure we leave on time).
Made my usual pilgramige to Foyles. I got there before it […]

Almost Home

Almost home after three weeks on the road. Flying into London and roaming around curved endless streets and lanes feels less like travel because this is my second home … I think this in fact may be trip number 30. Anyways Hamburger Union always tastes like home. Solidarity forever.

I Don’t Feel Like It

I feel like I should blog…but never seem to. I guess sometimes it’s because there’s not enough time (or I tell myself that) to write something that I think is worth writing down…a bad excuse - as if feeling I have to do any of this is a good idea.
I’m on the road again…New […]

Spring

Home in Vancouver over the weekend. The weather has been spectacular and the flight as we flew in over Whistler reminded me again why I love coming home so much. I haven’t spent a spring in my new place and in the short time I’ve gone the trees outside my window are now […]

Hello From London

Back in London for a few days. This is a shot of Canary Wharf as we prepared to land at Heathrow. Staying at the Radisson again which (finally) has wifi… and free no less. It’s getting harder to complain about internet access in London hotels. It’s colder than I expected too. […]

Almost Forgot

I went to Singapore and London this month (mostly for work)… this time I made it into the countryside of southern England… here’s my favourite photo -

Cromer Waterfront

Home Again

Home after four days away. Jet lag kicks in now no matter how short he trip (it’s 4 AM right now). Kelly took some photos which can be found here.
For political commentary about what happened in Ottawa this week check out both sides, from Ryan and Derek. I tend to lean towards […]

Adapter Redux

Spent a sunny Sunday in Oslo wandering around. We saw the Crown Prince Of Norway and his wife leaving Church today, as well as the Prime Minister (I think). It was the installation of the new Bishop Of Oslo. It was a big production; security, television crews and a pretty big crowd […]

Another Adapter

In London again and (again) I forgot my power adapter for the laptop. No big deal - as I can give the new one I had to buy to one of the many new mac users back at work. We decided to check out the new Apple Store on Regent Street in London. […]

Gone For A Week

Well obviously there hasn’t been much posting on this blog lately… and that’s a usual sign that I’m tired and really busy. This is great news in a way because things at work are going great (although so much to learn about how to manage a growing business). I’m lucky to have lots […]

Caution To Mac Users Flying British Airways (aka BT Openzone Sucks)

If you’re flying through Heathrow via British Airways and are a Mac user watch out for the wifi access in the lounge. They use the BT OpenZone system and for some inexplicable reason it will not work with Apple Safari or Firefox. What’s worse is the error tells you to call into […]

London On The Line

At the airport (again, second time in a week at YVR alone). Off to London (which is great at Christmas time so it’s not so bad). I’m flying British Airways for the first time. So far the fight is late by two hours… but at least they phoned me at work to […]

So Very Tired

My friend Tim is getting married in a few weeks. With a few old friends from the UBC days (and one new one) we headed down to Vegas. Three days felt like six… great times, but so very tired. Pics coming.

Hay Drying

Sitting in the Saskatoon airport, waiting for the flight home (you can see bales of hay drying outside). FatPort, via SaskTel have wireless in the airport… apparently my fatport roaming account still works. Nice.
Haven’t been to Saskatchewan in years. Very good weather, not too hot and excellent meetings.
They made me […]

Wake Up Call

The second night of travel is always the worse for jet lag (at least in terms of sleeping decently). In addition to that usual challenge the fire alarm in our hotel went off at 4:00 AM. I never found out if there was a real fire or not but this was a serious […]

Stop Number Two

Staying at the Hotel Admiral on the Bergen waterfront, nice place with fast Telenor WiFi. (no engish on their site though). Had a productive couple of days in Oslo and now figuring out whether to head down to London or back home sooner.

Norske

I’m in London waiting for my connecting flight to Oslo. Off for a relatively short eight day trip (3 cities). I’m looking forward to being in Bergen for the weekend, it’s been awhile. Will try and post some more…now to sleep in the crowded lounge (and hopefully not miss my flight in […]
