Is Anyone Out There Listening?

“Admittedly, I’ve never been in charge of a large company, but I am exasperated by the growing trend of putting obstacles in the way of getting support that serve no other purpose than to slow the customer down. I can understand having a “tier 1″ support and then higher level support backing that up. As long as there aren’t, like, five tiers, that seems reasonable to me.”

This post reminded me of one of the main reasons Shaw has my internet business instead of Telus… I found a phone number to call them and get a live person on the phone right away (in fact I was able to talk to them three times in last two days with very little wait)! Check out Telus’ Internet Service Site (it took me 4 clicks to get here… and no easy phone number… and this from a phone company) vs. Shaw’s Home Page (and their handy ‘call us’ button). Nice.
