Nanotech Paints (biz 2.0)

I’ve followed this field since Eric Drexler’s groundbreaking work, Engines of Creation, (I’ve got a copy if anyone wants). Although I’ve always worried about the grey goo problem the idea that matter itself can be reassembled, almost at whim by man-made machines is remarkable. It’s a future not entirely comprehensible.

More exciting is the philosophical, and yes, business opportunities such a radically restructured world and economy present. Although ‘Engines of Creation’ was bombastic in its projections, sixteen years after its publication there is a huge industry developing around this; it will be interesting to see where the military leads us on this one. If I wasn’t doing this busines… ;)
